 24 August, 2022, the Solar Show Africa 2022 was held in Sandton Conventional Centre, Johannesburg. This show has a history of 25 years which is about innovation, investment and infrastructure to provide energy to people on renewable energy solutions.

In this show, RoyPow South Africa has exhibited the latest energy solutions which include residential, portable power units, and unique lithium batteries for forklift, AWPs, floor cleaning machines, etc. The innovative products have attracted lots of customers around Africa as well. The visitors and exhibitors are impressed with RoyPow products by the professional and enthusiastic presentation.

Integrating the safety and intelligence into the energy storage solution, RoyPow residential ESS – SUN Series is reliable and smart to be used. RoyPow SUN Series, with IP65 standard protection, features all-in-one and modular design for easy installation and flexible battery expansion to meet diverse demands.

The mobile monitoring allows users to manage energy usage through an app that provides real-time status and updates, enabling the performance of optimization and boosting utility bill savings. Besides, RoyPow SUN Series is manufactured with aerogel material to effectively prevent thermal diffusion and the integrated RSD (Rapid Shut Down) & AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters) which detects arc fault failure, sends alarms through monitoring systems and breaks the circuit simultaneously further enhance the safety while using.

RoyPow SUN Series is mainly composed of battery modules and an inverter module. The battery module with a storage capacity of 5.38 kWh utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, which is known for its advantage of having a minimized fire risk when compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. The high thermal runway temperature and LFP’s charging reaction does not generate oxygen, thus avoid the risk of explosion. The battery module also contains built in BMS (battery management system) to provide peak performance when in operation, to deliver longer run times and to maximize the total battery lifespan.

While the solar inverter embedded in the storage solution allows for an automatic switchover to the backup mode in less than 10 milliseconds for a stable and reliable power supply. Its maximum efficiency is 98% with a European/CEC efficiency rating of 97%.
