On November 28th, RoyPow was invited to attend the annual conference hosted by The Boating Industry Association Ltd (BIA) as the sole member associated with lithium-ion battery solutions. The Boating Industry Association - the BIA - is the voice of the recreational and light commercial marine industry, promoting safe, recreational boating as a positive and rewarding lifestyle for Australians.

The annual conference covers the broad spectrum of issues surrounding boating lifestyle and is focused on retaining the high levels of interest and participation in boating, as well as showcasing the variety of boating activities on offer and much more.

“In addition to lifestyle, boating offers unquestionable health benefits. It is good for the body and mind; research shows that being in, on or around water helps reduce stress and promotes a sense of well-being. A boat provides you with your own island where you can choose when and where to go, and who goes with you. ” BIA President Andrew Fielding said.

The conference connects people from the relevant industry to share boating lifestyle, electricity solutions, and the future development of recreational boating.

RoyPow had a deep discussion with Nik Parker – the General Manager of BIA, on providing better electricity solutions for the South Australian houseboat.

“Boating is a way of life for many families in Australia, and it is estimated that 5 million people participate in some form of boating each year. The market is full of potential. For the electricity, it is usually provided in several ways. on-cruising houseboats hook up directly to shore power provided by marinas. Cruising houseboats might use generators or rechargeable batteries. ” Nik mentioned.

Staying on a houseboat requires a lot of power from the generator which takes a lot of maintenance and money to run. That’s why RoyPow offers a more cost-effective energy solution to handle the boat especially the yacht’s electrical needs. It’s safer to use and requires less maintenance and money to operate. No concern about carbon monoxide building up in cabins. There’s also the fuel cost savings by not running the generator. “With the promise of a cleaner and safer world, a world powered by a completely renewable source of energy, the future of house boating is beginning to look brighter.” Said by William, annual conference representative.

As a global company dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of lithium-ion battery system and solutions with more than 16 years’ combined experience in battery field, RoyPow was honored to be invited to participate in the event aimed at developing the Marine Lithium Battery Standard at the end of next year.
